EVA DOOLEY
ARTIST & GRAPHIC DESIGNER BASED IN AUCKLAND
Primarily I am an oil painter but I also work across a range of mediums including illustration, graphic design and photography. Over the years I have embraced a unique style that combines my love for realism with underlying thoughts, feelings and conceptual ideas that flow through my work. I enjoy creating work with meaning that encourages the viewer to see beyond the brushstrokes.
The natural environment is my greatest source of inspiration and much of my work is informed by mother nature. My artworks strive for a shift in thinking as to how people perceive themselves in relation to the sacred, interconnected natural environment around them. I also find beauty in people and I like exploring the diversity of humanity through portraiture. I particularly feel inspired by women which is evident in many of my pieces which focus on female portraiture.

I have always been a creative at heart but I really developed my love for visual arts at high school and knew from then that I wanted to pursue a creative career. In 2018, I graduated from Auckland University of Technology where I studied Visual Communication. The degree enriched my perspectives on creativity and design-thinking as a whole. As well as this, I was able to adopt new technologies, techniques and ultimately shift the way I think.
